Soldier Pile Wall Anchor Retrofit

Grouting Services specialises in the design and construction of ground anchors and waler systems for retaining walls. On a recent project we worked with our client  to retrofit anchors into an existing soldier pile retaining wall to enable the ground level to be lowered for a new building. Two full scale proving trial anchors were installed to verify the geotechnical ultimate bond rupture prior to construction commencing. A total of 69No permanent ground anchors were installed comprising 7-9m long BluGeo GRP60 25mm in a 120mm drill hole. 120 lineal metres of galvanised steel walers complete with inclined corbels were also installed to transfer the load from the anchors into the soldier pile wall. Grouting Services engaged partner Neil Jacka of Total Ground Engineering to complete the design, documentation and construction monitoring.
